Are your counselors Licensed?
Our counselors come from many different backgrounds and levels of education and experience. We are not licensed Counselors (LPC's) All our counselors have degrees in Biblical Counseling and are required to have continuing education and training. Most of our counselors are also pastors, chaplains, or ministers. We are also a training center for those desiring to become biblical counselors.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and have give 24 hours notice in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the counseling session. 

How much do sessions cost? 
Our fees vary based on the experience and professional level of each counselor. For specific fees please view our services/fees page. We do not bill insurance. Each session is paid for at the time of service. We can provide you with a super bill so you can submit it to your insurance provider in hopes you will receive full or partial reimbursement. We can not guarantee your insurance will reimburse you for your sessions. 

 

How long is each session?
Sessions are generally 50 minutes. Couples/family counseling is generally longer. please see our services/fees page

Where is your counseling center located? Do I have to be a member of the church to come to counseling?  

Our counseling center is located inside Bet Shalom Church. The Church is located at 2424 W. Kingsbury Street Seguin, Texas. You do not have to be a member of any specific church to receive counseling services at Sword Of The Lord Counseling Center. We are a non-denominational Counseling Center. 

 Are you a non-profit?/if I donate what will my money be used for?
Yes. Sword of the Lord Biblical Counseling and Training Center is a 501 C3 private non-profit. All donations are tax deductible. When you donate to Sword of the Lord, all donations are carefully used for the greatest need. Our greatest need is usually to help families to have access to counseling that they may not otherwise be able to afford. There are times when your donation will go towards purchasing special equipment for the counseling center or special equipment for a particular person or child.  Other times, your donation may go to helping offset the cost of supplies/daily operations for the counseling center. We also have our pay it forward program. This program allows your donation to go directly to a family to help pay for counseling. 

 Are your counselors licensed?
No, Our counselors are not licensed counselors. Each of our counselors is highly trained in Biblical Counseling. Most of our counselors have degrees in either biblical counseling or theology. All of our counselors are certified biblical Mental Health coaches. Many of our counselors are certified Interactive Metronome Providers. Our counselors have a large variety of experience and training. We require our counselors to have continuing education and training. Each of our counselors has been equipped and called to do the work God has put in their heart. Hebrews 13:12 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Each of our counselors donate a portion of their time to helping families who cannot pay for counseling. To learn more about our counselors, please go here. 

What forms of  payment to you accept?
We are happy to accept Credit Card payments, or cash

Do you offer scholarships or sliding scale?
We do offer reduced fees or sliding scale for those that need help to offset the cost of counseling. It is our desire that counseling be available and accessible for all persons regardless income status. Please contact us and we will send you the proper paperwork for our scholarship program/sliding scale program. To learn more about sliding scale/reduced fees please visit our fees page.  We have generous counselors who give of their time, so no person who desires counseling will go without. We cannot guarantee a certain counselor or time frame for reduced counseling. It will depend on counselor availability. Sliding scale/reduced fees are not available for our Interactive Metronome training program.  If you are interested in donating to help someone else have access to counseling or Metronome Training, please contact us or go to our donation page to donate. All donations are Tax Deductible.

How long will I need to be in counseling?
Each person who comes to counseling is different. Each situation is unique. Counseling time depends on the amount of work/time you are willing to put in. Change happens with commitment, time, your relationship with the lord, and obedience. In short, we believe in the soverignty of God, healing, and deliverance. God gives each one of us free will and the ability to choose. How long your in counseling depends on your goals and the work you do. Our desire is to see you leave counseling having met the goals you came to work on and your relationship with the Lord better than when you came. Ultimately, our desire is to have you leave counseling healed, delivered, and set free from the things that have been weighing you down. 

 

Do you take Insurance?
We do not bill insurance. We are happy to provide you with a super bill that you can submit to you insurance for  possible reimbursement. We can not guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you for your counseling sessions.
